Read the preamble out loud and highlight the eight vocabulary words. Break the students into groups and give each group a set of vocabulary cards. Have them work collaboratively with a dictionary and context clues to correctly match the definitions. Go over the correct matches as a whole group. Have the students record the proper definitions on the recording page. Challenge the groups to rewrite the preamble in their own words.
